Position Summary Information

Job Summary

The Transcript Specialist, under general supervision, evaluates transcripts on degree-seeking students and is responsible for the production and issuance of official A&M-Texarkana transcripts for current and previous students, and alumni.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

One year of related experience.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.

Detailed Job Duties

Duties Performed

Updates computer for course title changes, grade changes, and additional transfer work received for students.

Provides timely response to inquiries concerning transcripts. Assists in the production and processing of official transcript requests.

Updates courses in the student information system to ensure accurate repeated courses.

Evaluates and enters transfer work for undergraduate and graduate students.

Reviews files for new students. Verifies the accreditation of institutions attended.

Assists with student registration and data entry. Assists students and faculty with questions and problems.

Monitor and update all undergraduate students’ status for Texas Success Initiative (TSI) each semester. Assist the Registrar in maintaining TSI structure in Banner student information system.

Assists with university events/ceremonies that the Registrar’s Office assistance is needed including, but not limited to, SOAR and graduation ceremonies.

Ensures accuracy of data entry. Assists in auditing student records for accuracy

Evaluates work methods and makes suggestions to improve procedures and job efficiencies.

Assists the Registrar’s Office with the storage of student files on Laserfiche. Coordinates and maintains the scanning process for the Registrar’s Office to ensure all documents are properly scanned into the student files.
