Position Summary Information

Job Summary

The IT Generalist II (Senior IT Associate – Mainframe) is responsible for assisting with routine technical support for various information technology projects or work groups. Assists with routine technical support for customers.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of related experience in IT.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analysis or related field.

Detailed Job Duties

Duties Performed

Assist with basic IT work in one or more areas of technical specialization. Install new releases and enhancements. Implement TAMU IT policies and procedures. Recommend implementation and policy strategies. Debug problems at the system or operations level. Support reports detailing usage information for TAMU IT DASD and tapes. Provide assistance to the Operations Group with the back-up process, production control, and the management of tapes. Provide technical assistance. Assist with problem management procedures.

May provide on-call support on nights and weekends as needed. Applies team’s quality standards. Ensures that all work is accurate and in compliance with departmental or project quality standards.
