We are seeking a colleague to join our school psychology program to help prepare students for attainment of a Specialist in School Psychology degree (SSP). The current specialist degree program is consistent with the licensure requirements published by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists for the Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). Additionally, the program has been granted national approval, with conditions, from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and is considered consistent with the requirements of NASP for the Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Texas A&M University-Commerce offers more than 100 degrees at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels to over 12,000 students. Position Summary Information

Job Summary

Texas A & M – Commerce anticipates one tenure-track Assistant Professor position with responsibilities in support of our School Psychology major beginning Fall 2018. Individuals must have a doctorate in School Psychology. Preferably the Doctorate degree will be awarded from an APA accredited and/or NASP approved program. Individual must be certified as a School Psychologist or have potential for licensure. Preference will be given to individuals with a strong program of research and teaching experience. Experience in obtaining external funding is also highly desirable.

Faculty at Texas A & M University-Commerce are required to conduct scholarly activities, work cooperatively with others, and contribute service to their discipline, the university, and the community.

Major/Essential Duties of Job

• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology
• Providing support to NASP approved School Psychology program
• Advising, supervising, and mentoring school psychology graduate students
• Developing and implementing a program-relevant research agenda
• Developing research funding resources
• Providing service to the university community at multiple levels
• Maintaining active participation/membership in relevant professional activities/associations

Doctorate in School Psychology, awarded by August 2018. Preferably the Doctorate degree will be awarded from a an APA accredited and /or NASP approved program

Licensed or licensure eligible as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) and/or Licensed Psychologist (LP) in the state of Texas.
