Position Summary Information

Job Summary

Responsible for identifying and implementing new and existing fundraising strategies and tactics that increase annual giving. Assists the Director of Fundraising in raising the Annual Fund.

Major/Essential Duties of Job

Responsible for the creation and execution of annual giving appeals through direct mail and email, coordinates call center efforts, and in collaboration with the Fundraising Analyst, analyzes fundraising appeals and methods.
• In coordination with the Director of Fundraising and Fundraising Analyst, prepare and execute an annual calendar of fundraising appeals.
• In coordination with the Director of Fundraising, assist in the creative process of direct mail and email projects, including copy writing, design of appeals and proofreading copy and artwork for accuracy.
• Work closely with Marketing, Communications and Information Systems departments, in addition to outside vendors, and other appropriate staff to expedite production and delivery of Annual Fund projects including, but not limited to, the design, production schedule, and quality control issues.
• Solicit and acquire external bids for direct mail projects and work with Director of Fundraising to determine direct mail vendor selection.
• Coordinate The Association’s Call Center efforts, by collaborating with Call Center Site Manager and Fundraising Analyst on segmentation, schedule of outbound calling, calling scripts, and synchronization of databases.
• Coordinate the fulfillment of telefund pledges, identifying ways to increase pledge fulfillment rates.
• Manage The Association’s, recurring, non-ending program, identifying opportunities to increase the amount of donors giving on a recurring, non-ending basis.

Secondary Functions:

Collaborate with other Association staff members on fundraising initiatives.
• Interact with gift processing staff on solving transaction processing challenges related to the Annual Fund.
• Handle constituent questions, problems, and concerns regarding gifts.

• Contribute to the Annual Giving department’s preparation of annual giving business plan and department budget.
• Perform related duties as required.

Occasional Duties

Participates and provides input on various Association-wide activities which may include:
• Provide support for Board and Leadership Council Meetings.
• Participation on internal event and task committees.
• Participation in Association events including, but not limited to, TNT, Ring Delivery, Reunions, Distinguished Alumni Gala, and Game Day events, as needed.
• Represents The Association as needed at events.

Acts as an ambassador for The Association by meeting Team Expectations; supporting The Association’s fundraising, branding, and communications efforts; and fostering relationships with former students, current students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of Texas A&M. Occasional other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree.

3-5 years professional work experience with the ability to plan and execute concurrent and/or complex detail-oriented projects.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.

Knowledge of fundraising strategies and philosophy. Experience with complex database systems. Prior experience in project management. Customer service experience.

Ability to operate a keyboard. Frequent use of video display terminal. Ability and availability for limited travel and to operate a motor vehicle.

Working knowledge of standard office equipment.

Keyboarding and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to work some evenings, weekends (including home football games), and ability to travel overnight occasionally.
