Position Summary Information

Job Summary

Responsible for properly performing work requiring the application, concepts, practices and terminology of accounting. This position is responsible for processing various financial documents and data; analyzing data, and preparing financial reports. Responsible for recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate and complete financial records, and providing management reports necessary for efficient operations. Additional responsibilities include processing accounting entries to the Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS), and the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) and other accounting systems as needed.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum Educational Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Qualifications

One to three (1-3) years of related experience.

Must be proficient in work processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Experience with MS Office.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to work as member of team.

Preferred Education and Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Degree in business related field.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risk and determine compliance.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well independently.

Excellent interpersonal oral and written skills with a professional communication style characterized by integrity, candor, and diplomacy.

Knowledge of federal and state regulations, fund accounting, and higher education accounting or auditing are preferred.
